In an effort to pass on the legacy and art of Traditional Tang Soo Do, as it was taught to me by the late Master Yun Tak Bong in South Korea, I created courses on the Udemy learning platform.
These in-depth courses teach the history, tenets, techniques and forms from white belt through black belt. To date There have been over 800 students in 44 countries who have taken my courses.

My goal was not to make a ton of money, but to pass on the legacy of my instructor and help share the art of Tang Soo Do around the world. Udemy has reached students in parts of the world I could never have done on my own.
I invite you to look at the courses below, and begin your own Tang Soo Do journey in your own home, at your own pace, and by your schedule. If you ever have any questions or just want to say hello, you can contact me directly through the course or through my contact page here on the site!
Beginner (White Belt)

In Beginner Part 1, the student will learn the history, tenets, and start learning the basic stances and techniques of Traditional Tang Soo Do.

Beginner Part 2 picks up where Part 1 left off, continuing to learn the remainder of the basic punches, blocks, and kicks as well as the first three hyung, Kicho Il BU, EE Bu, and Sam Bu.
The Beginner Courses represent the white belt level in accordance with the same belt system Master Yun used in his dojang. After the student successfully masters the content of these two courses they will have built a solid foundation in Tang Soo Do and martial arts in general.
Intermediate (Blue Belt)

The Intermediate Course represents the Blue Belt level and you will begin learning more complex and advanced techniques and hyung.
Building upon the foundation you have built in the beginner courses, you will learn the intermediate strikes and kicks as well as the first three Pyung Ahn forms.
Advanced (Red Belt)

Once you begin the Advanced Course, you will continue to master and improve your skill in all you have learned to this point, as well as learn the advanced strikes and kicks in the art.
You will learn the last two Pyung Ahn forms, Bassai, and Naihanchi Cho Dan, as well as basic weapons using the Jo and Bokken.
Once you have mastered all you have learned in these courses you will have learned all of the skills required at black belt level (Cho Dan) in the art of Traditional Tang Soo Do.
What Students Are Saying…
This course is great. Kevin Putala is a great teacher and gives a great deal of knowledge in the course while also making the class quite inclusive for anyone in any stage of life to feel confident to train at home. Its a great and natural addition to the previous beginner’s courses. Would highly recommend this course.

Absolutely brilliant course!! I have tried learning Tang Soo Do before from other courses but nothing compares to this, the amount of detail in this course is amazing.

The training is comprehensive and offers a great overview of the material. I am a 3rd Dan in Taekwondo, but have been out of practice for about 10 years. My daughter is interested in learning, so I am using all of the Tang Soo Do courses to help teach her. The reason we are studying Tang Soo Do over Taekwondo is that I feel that Taekwondo has shifted too far away from the art towards the sport and I want her to learn more than just flexibility and kicking.

Helps reinforce what I am learning during in person classes. I can refine what I learned with the instructors slowed down version of instruction and thus work on developing a more refined technique.

Excellent explanation of the basic stances. The application and execution of techniques is explained in detail and the what not to do. A very informative explanation of techniques and the bonus feature at the end is really first class.
