Highly-rated online courses teaching the art of Traditional Tang Soo Do Korean Karate in your own home and at your own pace!

Have you always wanted to learn a martial art but never started?
Trained when you were younger and want to get back into it?
Live in a remote area with no access to schools or can’t afford the rising cost of classes?
If you said “Yes” to any of those questions, then we’ve got you covered! Kevin Putala’s highly rated courses on the Udemy learning platform will teach you the history, tenets, techniques, and forms of Traditional Tang Soo Do Korean Karate from white belt to black belt.
A student of the late Master Yun Tak Bong, earning his black belt training in the old school ways in Chong Dong Ri, South Korea, Kevin’s in-depth courses were created to pass on the legacy of this popular martial art and his instructor.
Belt System
Just as in Master Yun’s dojang in South Korea, the belt system used by Kevin in his classes and online courses is focused on developing skill, not the color of belt around your waist. There are only four belt colors from beginner to black belt as shown below.

The Courses

Beginner Part 1 begins to lay the foundation for a lifetime in Tang Soo Do and martial arts. Covering the history, tenets, as well as the basic stances, strikes, and kicks.
This is the White Belt level, where every martial arts master has started their journey.

Beginner Part 2 picks up right where part one left off and teaches the remainder of the techniques, as well as the first three basic hyung in Tang Soo Do.
Once the student has mastered the material in parts 1 & 2 they are ready to move on to Blue Belt and the intermediate level techniques.

The Intermediate course is represented by the Blue Belt, and begins the learning of more advanced techniques as well as the first three Pyung Ahn Hyung.

The Advanced Course is where all of the advanced strikes, kicks, and Hyung are learned in preparation for Black Belt.
Students will also learn the basic weapons forms for the Jo (4 foot wooden staff)
What students are saying…
Great course for someone of my age it had good advice on how to adapt the training for your own abilities and not encourage you to be a world class gymnast.

The training is comprehensive and offers a great overview of the material. I am a 3rd Dan in Taekwondo, but have been out of practice for about 10 years. My daughter is interested in learning, so I am using all of the Tang Soo Do courses to help teach her. The reason we are studying Tang Soo Do over Taekwondo is that I feel that Taekwondo has shifted too far away from the art towards the sport and I want her to learn more than just flexibility and kicking.

I found this course to be nothing short of inspiring. I have been an armchair martial artist for many years after having kids. My soul has been yearning to find a quality program to continue what I started as a child. This program is such a great mix of history, principles, values, and technique. I can’t thank you enough for your effort in creating a quality program!
